Hans van Helden

Hans van Helden has worked in film and television for over 25 years, across post production, visual effects and production operations.

He began in film editing and moved into post production supervision and visual effects, working on more than 100 feature films and drama series. His visual effects supervision credits include Paul Verhoeven's Black Book, Martin Koolhoven's Brimstone and Brian De Palma's Domino.

In 2011 he joined Filmmore to establish the company's Brussels studio, which he ran as Managing Director for seven years.

He joined Netflix in 2018, where he built and led Production Solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa: specialist teams covering post production, visual effects, music and production technology across nine country offices, supporting productions in more than twenty markets. He served on the EMEA senior leadership team and led the region's contribution to Netflix's global AI working group.

Since 2025 he has worked independently, advising on production strategy and technology. He is also the developer of prep.film, a planning and budgeting tool for film production.
