Martin McGowan

Martin McGowan is a filmmaker based in Triangle Area, North Carolina. Martin Specializes in directing and cinematography and holds experience in sound and editing. Martin focuses on utilizing blocking and camera positions to accentuate the emotions and dynamics of his characters.

Martin’s directorial debut, Fist of the Punching Fist! was screened at the 2023 Fuquay Film Festival and nominated for Best Comedy. He also directed several films screened for UNCW’s 48-Hour Film Challenges. This year, his film, 11:59 was screened at the Reel Teal Film Festival and Marbles Film Festival. His latest work, RokuGatsu was shot in Tokyo, Japan during a CIEE study abroad program. Martin’s dream is to become a prominent director and DP for drama, comedy and action cinema.
