Daniel Woods

Daniel is an Australian filmmaker whose work is defined by curiosity, compassion, and a thoughtful approach to storytelling. As a producer, director, and editor, he combines creative vision with technical expertise to craft films that place people at the heart of every frame. Beginning his career directing music videos, short films, television commercials, and documentaries, Daniel has developed a versatile body of work. He was selected to participate in the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), where he produced the narrative short Une Belle Journée, and he directed the award-winning documentary MILD, an intimate exploration of autism that received recognition for its sensitive and authentic storytelling.

Daniel is currently completing his feature documentary What's Your Name, Charlie?, a deeply personal film following a wife caring for her husband through dementia. The project reflects his ongoing interest in stories of family, resilience, memory, and the quiet strength found in everyday lives.
