Sidsel Filipsen

Born in 1990 in Aarhus. Since 2014, Sidsel has worked as film director Joshua Oppenheimer and producer Signe Byrge Sørensen’s assistant at the production company Final Cut for Real and University of Westminster in London. Besides working with Joshua Oppenheimer on his documentary projects and upcoming fiction musical film, Sidsel is part of his research project at Westminster, Documentary of the Imagination, where she helps develop and define the self-staging methods Joshua established with his two previous films, The Act of Killing and The Look of Silence.

Having a background in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen, Sidsel emphasises careful representation and thorough research of the topics her projects deal with, whether they are fiction or documentary. As a producer, she especially loves being creatively engaged in her projects.
