Mony Kann Darung

Mony Kann Darung is a Cambodian filmmaker and director who has worked in the film industry since 2012. He completed his filmmaking studies at Dongseo University in South Korea in 2018 and subsequently worked as a freelance commercial and film director. His work spans short films, commercials, web series, television productions, and music videos.

Darung's early film work includes the short films Lily (2019) and Pkar Chouk (2021), which he directed and wrote. He also directed the television mini-series Yellow Light (2020).

In 2026, Darung made his feature-film debut as director and co-writer with Far Away Close to You, a Khmer-language romantic drama produced by Tiny Films. He co-wrote the film with Phuong Vanneth. The film premiered theatrically in Cambodia on February 12, 2026, and was subsequently selected for the 15th Cambodia International Film Festival.

Darung has also directed music videos, including VannDa's Back Home (2026), credited under the name Darung Mony.
