Matías Sinay

Matías Sinay is a director and screenwriter born in Córdoba, Argentina. In 2019, he created the successful animated YouTube series A World Without, which has amassed more than one billion views and has been translated into several languages.

Together with his brother Augusto, he works as part of the filmmaking duo Hermanos Sinay, writing and directing short films, series, and feature films. Their work includes the short film Compost (2024), awarded at international film festivals, and his latest feature, The Trumpeter and the Ghost (2026), a fantastic adventure blending jazz, mystery, and science fiction.

His work is driven by bold, original ideas explored through genres such as science fiction, comedy, and horror. With a strong auteur sensibility, his stories seek to move beyond familiar formulas, combining genres, tones, formats, and unexpected premises to create deeply singular worlds.
