Miteki Takeyama

Miteki Takeyama (she/they) is a Japanese director, writer and production designer based in New York. Her work explores the intimate complexities of identity, womanhood, and mental health through visually rich, immersive storytelling. Drawing from a cross-cultural perspective and a deep commitment to emotional authenticity, Miteki crafts stories that bring visibility to the struggles often carried in silence.

As production designer, she is particularly drawn to translating a character’s inner world into tangible, lived-in spaces. She creates visual spaces that reveal emotional truths beyond what can be spoken, allowing production design to become an extension of characters' psyche.
